Project begun…

What started as a idea has manifested into a full-blown concept in how to renovate a 50 year old house to endure and prosper for the next fifty years.  We originally were discussing a case study with our friend Trisha at Relish Design about doing a interior case study to showcase her products and design in a residential situation.  It then morphed into a renovation based around new green building principles with a meeting with Jeff Kovel at Skylab Design.  From there, it has commenced to take on a life of it’s own, with help from our good friend, Summer Lewis.

What we’ll be doing here is discussing our ideas and progression as we tackle a complete renovation of our 1961 Warren Weber house.

Our idea is to make this a educational and thought provoking exploration of how a family of five might endeavour a ten year renovation in one year. We’re a “normal” family trying to make a difference in our world and see how the ideas of the new generation might affect our lives and those around us.

What are the trials?

What are the joys?

How did we decide to do this?

What were the preparations?

What were the considerations?
